Who are we? Who is Folders? Well, you've probably not heard of us until now but we are really glad you're here checking us out.

We're a family team with a great kiwi story to tell. We started small, in a postage-stamp sized building, but our innovative use of 'Number 8 wire' (a classic Kiwi phrase for resourcefulness) has allowed us to grow exponentially.

Now, we operate out of one of the largest showrooms in Northland! Who says you can't do big things from the tip of New Zealand? But, time and demand marches on. Hence to cope with the growth we recently opened an Auckland distribution centre.

Our success story speaks volumes and we'd love for you to join us on this journey. So get ready, because Folders is coming and we’re here to stay.

We've been around for over a century and a half, from our humble roots as one of the original Kaitaia missionary families, involved in farming from the 1830's, to becoming part of a retail story in 2012.

We'd seen what came to town with the big discount corporates - downtrodden diversity, lacklustre product offering, and non-existent service. We figured enough was enough and decided to make a difference!

It wasn't easy to acquire suppliers or even get fair pricing at first; it took hard work, out-of-the-box thinking, computers and the internet, and some serious persistence. 

Now that we've been around a while, and enjoyed success, it's never taken for granted.  We are committed to the same philosophy that got us here: good old fashioned Kiwi service, integrity, a fantastic product offering and competitive prices. We take these extremely seriously - after all, it's why we get over half a million Kiwi visitors every year, and the numbers just keep growing! We wouldn't have it any other way.
