There is a wide range of bench top models from  entry level to serious barista espresso machines.

  1. Capsule machines should be considered entry level though often the price does not reflect this. Many people just like the convenience and ease of use but the cost per cup is high and for many the coffee taste a little weak as each capsule is not quite equivalent to a single espresso shot you would expect at a cafe.

No barista experience is required and the technology has improved significantly reflecting a quality coffee result that its half bad. they are also cheaper to run using coffee beans rather than expensive capsules. The more expensive automatic machines allow for a lot of customisation so you can tailor a coffee to your tastes.

  3.  Semi-Automatic machines will do some of the work. However, you will require to learn some barista techniques such as grinding, tampering, and milk frothing. With a little practise you may be knocking great coffee's to impress your friends. Even add the little latte art!

  4. Many real coffee connoisseurs demand the fully manual versions so they have full control of their barista espresso experience. Most of these machines are a scaled down version of the commercial machines. At folders we stock the Italian Vibiemme brand  which is a brilliant machine.
