Hard drives are essential components of most computers today and come in a variety of forms, the most common being CompactFlash, Secure Digital (SD), MemoryStick, and MicroSD. For higher performance storage solutions, flash drives, or solid-state drives (SSDs) have become popular, with many laptops and portable devices containing them. There is also traditional optical memory drive technology such as Compact Discs (CDs) or DVDs which have been around for much longer but are still used in some applications.
