Regulators and controllers are important components of a solar energy system. Regulators regulate the solar panel's charging current to provide the most effective charge to the batteries without overcharging them. They also prevent the batteries from back-feeding into the solar panel at night. Controllers, on the other hand, are devices that regulate the amount of power flowing from the solar panel to the batteries. By doing so, they help to prevent damage to the batteries and maximise their lifespan.
