Rectifiers, Regulators & Diodes

Rectifiers are used to convert alternating current (AC) to direct current(DC). Regulators are used to maintain a constant output voltage or current in a circuit, despite variations in the input voltage or load. Diodes are two-terminal electronic components that allow current to flow in one direction but not in the other. They are often used in rectifier circuits to convert AC to DC by allowing only the positive half of the AC waveform to pass through. Diodes can also be used as voltage regulators by allowing only a certain range of voltages to pass through.
