As a general rule, a two-person household may require around 150 liters, with an additional 50-70 litres per person for larger families. Be sure to measure your designated space to ensure the freezer fits comfortably while allowing for proper ventilation.

Chest freezers tend to be more energy-efficient than vertical models, as their top-opening design reduces cold air loss when opened, helping to maintain a consistent temperature. They also typically offer better overall cooling performance. However, energy efficiency varies across models, so it's important to check energy ratings when selecting a freezer.
