In contrast, a ductless (or recirculating) range hood filters the air through charcoal filters and recirculates it back into the kitchen. How high should a rangehood be mounted above the cooktop?

Is rangehood extraction power important?

Yes, Rangehood extraction power is one of the most critical factors to consider when choosing a rangehood. The extraction power determines how effectively the rangehood can remove cooking fumes, grease, odors, and steam from your kitchen.

Extraction power is measured in cubic meters per hour (m³/h). To calculate the required power for your kitchen:

- Multiply the kitchen's length × width × height to get its volume.
- Multiply the volume by 10 (to achieve 10 air changes per hour).
- Example: A 4m x 3m x 2.5m kitchen = 30m³ x 10 = 300m³/h minimum extraction power .
