Use & care:
- Performance enhances with each use and seasoning.
- Prior to cooking, apply vegetable oil to the cooking surface of your pan and pre-heat gradually
- Once the utensil is adequately pre-heated, you are set to cook
- A low to medium temperature setting is sufficient for most cooking tasks
- A vegetable oil coating is particularly suitable for cast iron cookware when frying or searing. It helps maintain the excellent heat conduction properties of cast iron while also protecting the cookware from rust
- Do not clean this cookware in the dishwasher. Dishwashing will remove the seasoning and lead to rust
- After cooking, clean your pan using a nylon brush or sponge and hot water. Dry it immediately with a towel and apply a light layer of oil to the pan while it is still warm
- Store in a cool, dry location
- Never place a hot cast iron pan into cold water, as thermal shock may occur, causing the pan to warp or crack
- Cast iron becomes very hot during use; always use oven mitts or pot holders to handle your cookware
- Wash cast iron by hand with a nylon brush or sponge and hot water. If necessary, use a pan scraper for stuck-on food. A small amount of detergent can be used, but excessive detergent may diminish the seasoning, especially if the pan is not fully seasoned.
- For particularly stubborn residue, simmer a small amount of water for 1 minute, then use the scraper after it has cooled. Dry thoroughly and promptly with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.
- Apply a very light layer of cooking oil while the cookware is still warm. This helps prevent rust. Hang or store cookware in a dry environment.
- The surface of the cookware is not completely impervious, so do not wash it in the dishwasher as it will ruin the seasoning and cause rust.
